Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree from the department of English literature. Mitchell was recruited as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in 1967. In 1976, she was a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). Then, she became a Washington general correspondent for NBC News two years later. In 1981, she began covering at the White House, and in 1988, she was promoted to chief congressional correspondent. She was made the chief White House correspondent in 1992. And chief foreign affairs Correspondent for NBC News. Mitchell hosted and participated as an expert panelist on the TV show Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist during the 1988 presidential debates between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan who was former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has received numerous awards for her journalism achievements, such as an award called the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. The award was presented to her by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award presented by the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell's very first White House coverage was for NBC News, between 1981-1988. The time span covered the two Ronald Reagan terms in office. Mitchell covered a range of interesting stories such as arm control, budget tax reform as well as the Iran-contra scandal. She also went on numerous trips together with the President Reagan for summits alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world heads.
